Son of a preacher man, born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. The multi-talented Ryan McDermott: singer, writer, rapper, producer. (Player of drums, bass, keys, guitar, and more, performing and recording himself since age six.) A man on a mission to prove that real music and messages are as relevant as ever, ESPECIALLY when infused with the mainstream. And swim, he does, like a diver bringing gems to the surface for all to sea (get it?).
Pulling from musical styles of soul, rock, gospel, and hip hop and flowing from lyrical veins of introspection, convection, and erection, Ryan draws out the life water of the human experience like it was just another pop song that made way too much sense. His passion goes beyond a musical commentary- it's clear to all who encounter him that Ryan is about more than just performing.
Currently finishing up work on his first single, "Cryin Without Tears", Ryan is not completely fresh to the game, having worked with legends like Earth, Wind, & Fire (Ryan cowrote their latest single). Sean "Diddy" Combs put it conditionally when he said of Ryan in 2009, "If [Ryan] continues to create, he will be BIG." Well, he's not stopping. In fact, he's just begun, so stay tuned...
